On Friday 24th November, Cairde Othar na Gaillimhe will hold their annual men’s health awareness evening takes place at 6.30pm in The Ardilaun Hotel with a drinks reception followed by four course buffet dinner, wine with meal and entertainment, along with a line-up of guest speakers where the theme of this year’s event is Healthy Body, Healthy Mind – keeping the balance.</p><p style="margin: 0px auto 1em; padding: 0px; max-width: 900px; color: rgb(81, 81, 81); font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 14px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Cairde Othair na Gaillimhe, which translated means `Friends of the Galway Patients` is a charity established in 2015 which aims to improve patient experience and wellbeing by providing enhanced/additional supports and facilities at Galway University Hospitals. Essentially the idea is to provide comfort and services for patients and their relatives that aren`t currently available in the hospital.</p><p style="margin: 0px auto 1em; padding: 0px; max-width: 900px; color: rgb(81, 81, 81); font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 14px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">This charity involves a number of volunteers from business and community groups and is chaired by orthopaedic surgeon Mr Stephen Kearns, who will also be MC’ing the event on the night. Guest speakers on the night will include RTE sporting legend Michael Lyster, some of Galway’s winning All-Ireland Senior Hurling Team and Paddy O’Malley Consultant Urological Surgeon, along with Galway’s home grown talent comedian Aidan Tierney of Tierney Talks. </p><p style="margin: 0px auto 1em; padding: 0px; max-width: 900px; color: rgb(81, 81, 81); font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 14px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Tickets for this event are €70 and are available from The Ardilaun Hotel.
