On Friday the 28th April Cairde Othair na Gaillimhe (Friends of the Galway Patients) will hold their third Health Awareness event in the Ardilaun Hotel at 6pm. The charity was established in 2015 to improve patient experience and wellbeing by providing enhanced/additional supports and facilities Galway’s Hospitals. Essentially the idea is to provide comfort and services for patients and their relatives that aren`t currently available in the hospital.
So far the group has helped complete the playground for the Paediatric Unit and provided 1,000 personal care packs and t-shirts for patients who come to the Emergency Department of GUH. The group this year will fund end-of-life/family rooms and transport for orthopaedic patients in Merlin Park Hospital.
The Women`s Health Awareness Evening will be held Friday, 28th April in the Ardilaun Hotel (reception at 6 pm and dinner at 7 pm). Speakers include personal trainer Jessica Cooke, Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon Ciara Egan and Consultant Gynaecologist Michael O`Leary. There will also be a `Diamond in the Dark` raffle, generously sponsored by Hartmann Jewellers.
Tickets for this event are €60 and are available from the Ardilaun Hotel, Galway. For further information contact the Ardilaun Hotel 091-521433 or Mary 087-6689284.
